Founded the global-macro hedge fund Moore Capital in 1989 and closed it to outside money in 2019. Moore Strategic Ventures invests his own capital, and no executive is quoted on its defense deals. A long-time political donor: Forbes reported he formed a super PAC in 2013, The Intercept reported $1.1M to Republican federal committees in the 2016 cycle and $1M to No Labels-affiliated super PACs in 2018, and ProPublica's records show $250,000 to the Republican Governors Association. Also a major conservation philanthropist.
